The Last Will & Testament of John CROCKER (1750) of Hazelbury Bryan

In the name of God Amen, I John CROCKER of the parish of Haselbury in the county of Dorset, Yeoman, being of a sound mind and memory, do make this my Last Will and Testament.

That is to say principally and first of all, I give and recommend my soul into the hands of God, who gave it and my body to be decently buried by my Executours hereinafter named.

First of all, I give and bequeath to Ann EDWARDS, widow of the parish of Haselbury Bryan, the som of seven pounds, to be paid to her by my Executours in twelve months after my decease.

I give and bequeath unto Jospeh WHIT? Miller of the parish of Haselbury Bryan, the som of five pounds, to be paid to him by my Executours in twelve months after my decease.

I give and bequeath to my brother Thomas CROCKER, the som of ten pounds and three shillings, to be paid to him by my Executours in twelve months after my decease.

I give and bequeath to my grandaughter, Mary CROCKER of Haselbury Bryan, the som of five pounds, to remain in my Executours hands, till she comes to the age of fifteen years and then for -- of my Executours to put her -- with the said sum of money.

If after my debts and funerial expenses are paid, if so much remains, I give and bequeath to my cuszen, Thomas JACOB of Pulham, the som of ten shillings.

And all the rest, residue and remainder of my goods and chattels whatsoever and wheresoever both quick and dead? with in doors and without and all my -- money bills, bonds or obligations, whatsoever and wheresoever and all my substance, I give and bequeath to John HASKELL-Junior of Sturton Caundle and Giles LODER of Haselbury Bryan, whom I do nominate, appoint and ordain to be my full and soul Executours of this my Last Will and Testament and do hereby revoke and dissanull, all other former Wills by me at any time made -- giving and confirm this and no other to be my Last Will and Testament.

In witness whereof, I the said John CROCKER to this my Last Will and Testament, have hereunto sett my hand and seal, the twentieth day of August in the year of our Lord Christ, one thousand seven hundred and fifty one in the twenty fourth year of the reign of our Lord George the Second.

Signed, sealed and published and pronounced and declared by the said John CROCKER to be his Last Will and Testament in the presents of us John BLAKE Esau LUSH

December 22nd 1750. This Will of John CROCKER deceased, was proved by the oaths of John HASKELL Junior and Giles LODER the Executors above named to whom administration of all and singular the goods, chattels and credits of the deceased was granted, they being first duly sworn faithfully to administer the same and to fulfill the said Will according to law before me.
