SECOND SURVIVING SON OF THE LATE CHRISTOPHER REED ESQ OF CHIPCHASE CASTLE IN THE COUNTY OF NORTHUMBERLAND.
TWELVE YEARS RECTOR OF THIS PARISH WHO DIED APRIL THE 6TH 1821 IN THE 59TH YEAR OF HIS AGE.
HAVING DISCHARGED THE DUTIES OF A CLERGYMAN, A HUSBAND, A FATHER AND A FRIEND, IN A MANNER WHICH WILL EVER ENDEAR THE RECOLLECTION OF HIM.
TO THOSE WHO HAD THE HAPPINESS OF HIS ACQUAINTANCE.

  In gratitude to God for the life of Neville Spurling, Royal Marines, killed in action Cyprus 1958 aged 23 years.
My sword, I give to him that shall succeed me in my pilgrimage and my courage and skill to him that anger it.
My marks and scars I carry with me to be a witness for me that I have fought his battles who will now be my rewarder.

Here lyeth the body of Nicholas son of Paul and ann Kellaway, who departed this life ye 27th day of July 1714, in ye, 5th year of his life.

The Righteous should be had in everlasting Remembrance.
By a Deed under date of the 19th March 1655. Certain Lands in the Parish of Hazelbury Bryan, hereunder described now called the Poor Lands; the Gift of some Person, or Persons at this Period unknown, were conveyed to Seventeen Persons therein named In Trust, to dispose of the Rents of the same for the better Maintenance and Relief, of such poor Widows, Fatherlefs and other poor and Impotent People of this Parish; as should appear to have most need; and be the Most Orderly, Honest and Well Behaved; But not for Disorderly or Unruly Persons as the Trustees should in their Judgement think most fit and Deserving:- And it was Agreed that when Ten or more of the Trustees, should be Dead and only Seven are Left Living, then the Surviving Trustees should Name Ten or more Trustees; to fill up the Vacancies from the Tenants and Inhabitants of the Said Parish; and execute Proper Deeds of Conveyance:-
Fourteen Acres of Land in DROOP, Ten Acres in Various Pieces between the Hamlets, or DROOP and WONSTON-
This Memorial is Placed by the Trustees AD 1709

I have fought a good fight. I have finished my course. I have kept the faith.

Whereas on Jan 21 1840 certain lands and messuages, esteemed the property of this Parish, were publicly sold by order of the Commissioners for the administration of the poor laws and produced altogether the sum of £177.5.0
So much of this money as remained, after paying what was due from this Parish for the erection of the Union House, was employed, in April 1843, in the purchase of £128.4.3 of 3 per cent consols; which stock thereby became the property of the Parish
