Will dated 30 October 1765 - Proved on 24 May 1771

I Ann LIDFORD of Haselbury Briant in the County of Dorset, being sound in mind, memory and understanding, thanks be to God, do make this my Last Will and Testament in manner and form following, revoking all former Wills heretofore made.

First, I give unto my brother Joseph NORTHOVER and my kinswoman Mary LUSH eight pounds a piece for to bury me att my decease.

I do also give them power to receive the rents between them and do make them joint Executors for my cusson William NORTHOVER ---, untill he come to the age of twenty one, then I do make him my Executor, in this my Will for him to have my dwelling house, orchard and garden and all belonging to the same during his life, only my cusson William NORTHOVER is to say?

To my kinswoman Betty STAFORD ten pounds and to Thomas NORTHOVER, ten pounds, sone of my brother, Thomas NORTHOVER deceased, when he come to the age of twenty one and after my cusson William NORTHOVER decease, I do give my house, orchard and garden and all belonging to the same to my kinswoman Betty STAFORD, during her life and after her decease, to Thomas NORTHOVER to him and his heirs for ever.

In witness whereof, I have hereunto sett my hand and seal the 30th day of October 1765.

Signed, sealed and delivered by the said Ann LIDFORD the Teston? as for her Last Will and Testament, in the presents of Benjamin MUSTON, Mary LUSH, Grace NORTHOVER.

 


On the 24th of May 1771, the within written Will of Ann LIDFORD deceased, was proved by the oath of Joseph NORTHOVER, one of the Executors within named, to Administer of all and singular, the goods, chattles and credits of the deceased -- her being first duly sworn, well and faithfully to Administer the -- exhibit a true and perfect inventory thereof into the Registry of the Archdeacon of Dorset and render a just account thereon when thereto -- required- power being reserved to make the like grant to Mary LUSH -- Executor within named.
