This is the Last Will and Testament of me Richard SHITLER of Haselbury Bryant in the County of Dorset, Victualler as follows.

First I give, devise and bequeath unto my dear wife, Mary SHITLER, all my messuages, lands, tenements and hereditaments situate, lying and being in the parish of Haselbury Bryant aforesaid, with the appurtenances thereunto belonging, for and during the term of her natural life and from and immediately after her decease, I give devise and bequeath the said messuages, lands and tenements and hereditaments situate lying and being in the said parish of Haselbury Bryant aforesaid unto my son Joseph SHITLER, his heirs and assigns forever, subject to the mortgage thereon and also subject and chargeable to the payment of the sum of forty pounds, herein after given unto my son Richard SHITLER, at the time herein after mentioned.

I give and bequeath unto my son Richard SHITLER the sum of forty pounds of good and lawful money of Great Britain, to be paid him by my said son Joseph SHITLER in twelve months next after my said wifes decease, for the securing the payment of which I do hereby expressly charge and subject my said messuages, lands and tenements and hereditaments with the appurtenances with the payment thereof.

And all the rest, residue and remainder of my goods, stock, chattles, money, securities for money, personal estate and effects whatsoever and wheresoever and of what nature or kindsoever, which I shall be possessed of, interested in or intitled unto at the time of my decease, I give and bequeath the same and every part thereof unto my said dear wife Mary SHITLER and I do hereby make, nominate and appoint my said wife Mary SHITLER, sole Executrix of this my Last Will and Testament.

In witness whereof, I the said Richard SHITLER the Testator, have to this my Last Will and Testament, set my hand and seal the twenty second day of November in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and ninety six.

Signed, sealed, published and declared by the said Richard SHITLER, the Testator as and for his Last Will and Testament in the presence of us who in his presence at his request and in the presence of each other, have subscribed our names as witnesses.

On the 26th October 1797 the within written Will of Richard SHITLER deceased, was proved by the oath of Mary SHITLER the widow of the deceased and sole Executrix within named, to whom Administration of all and singular, the goods, chattles and credits of the said deceased was granted, she being first sworn upon the Holy Evangelists, well and faithfully to Administer the same, to exhibit a true and perfect inventory thereof into the Registry of the Archdeacon of Dorset and render a just account thereof when thereto lawfully required.
