transcription has been taken by Beryl Fooks from a copy of Volume 6 of "Dorset Parish Registers - Marriages" Edited by W. P. W. Phillimore' and Edmund Neville and published in 1912. The extracts were copied from the
registers by Rev. C. F. Medcalf, rector of Preston at that time.
The records are in three volumes:-
Volume 1 includes Baptisms 1693-1782, Marriages from 1695-1751 and Burials from 1693 - 1792. Some pages have been spoilt at the bottom by water and mice.
Volume 2 is the usual book of printed forms for marriages and banns and covers the period 1754-1813
Volume 3 is the standards book of printed forms [no banns] from 1813 to 1837.
