The cock displayed in the church served for many years as the church weather vane. It is probably 18th century and is described in old records as: "Wrought iron tripod on Church tower in form of a hollow copper cock with comb, wattles, wings and tails cut out of flat sheets and the whole guilded. The legs and spurs are of wrought iron." Church accounts for November 1776 show an item: "To William Farnham for a New Cock, Iron work, guilding, painting and labour £2 10s 0d". Severe storms in recent years damaged it beyond economical repair and it had to be replaced. It was refurbished by Mr John Bauwens of South Perrott in 1997 and now stands proudly in the Church.
