Stratton War memorial is described in the United Kingdom National Inventory of War Memorials  (www.ukniwm.org.uk) as a
“Stone cross, 3600mm high, with a three stepped octagonal base surmounted by an octagonal plinth, shaft and cross.
Inscription carved onto the plinth. Sword carved on the face of the cross and a wreath hangs over the arms.”

THIS MONUMENT COMMEMORATES THOSE FROM THIS PARISH WHO AT
CALL OF KING AND COUNTRY LEFT ALL THAT WAS DEAR TO THEM, ENDURED HARDSHIPS, FACED
DANGERS AND FINALLY MADE THE SUPREME SACRIFICE
THAT OTHERS MIGHT LIVE IN FREEDOM.
