Winterborne Whitechurch

BAPTISMS 1838–1880
Transcribed from BTs by Tony Higgins for OPC project, September–October 2005.

WW = Winterborne Whitechurch (usually written in BTs as ‘Whitechurch’).

MA = Milton Abbas (sometimes written in BTs as ‘Milton’ or ‘Abbey Milton’).

Part of Winterborne Whitechurch village is within the parish boundary of Milton Abbas, which accounts for the many baptism entries giving residence as Milton Abbas or Milton End.

The online IGI has a partial transcript of baptisms for Winterborne Whitechurch (Batch number C160211), taken from the same source as these transcripts (microfilm 1239260 of BTs). For the period 1838–1880 the IGI has 247 entries (all female), less than 50% of the 563 legible entries.

Comments and queries by transcriber are given in brackets.
