The Will of John Bell of Bourton

Signed on 20th June 1765 and Proved on 13 February 1773

In the name of God Amen. I John Bell of Bourton within the parish of Gillingham in the county of Dorset, Linman, do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following that is to say: First I give unto my brother William Bell, the sum of forty shillings. Also I give unto my sister Mary Green the like sum of forty shillings. Also I give unto Elizabethmy wife a little coppice lying in Silton in the said county of Dorset that I now hold by the term of the lives of John Goldsboroughand Ann his wife and the longest liver of them. Also all the rest residue and remainder of my goods chattels and credits whatsoever and wheresoever and not hereon before given, I give and dispose hereof unto Elizabeth my said wife whom I also nominate constitute and appoint whole and sole Executrix of this my last Will and Testament in witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this twentieth day of June in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and sixty five

This Will was proved at London the thirteenth day of February in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and seventy-three, lawfully constituted by the oath of Elizabeth Bell widow the relict of the deceased and sole Executrix named in the said Will to whom Administration was granted of all and singular the goods chattels and credits of the said deceased she having been first sworn by commission duly to administer.
